Hollow Carving & Habitat Pruning
Natural tree hollows are valuable and often essential for over 300 Australian animal species. 17% of bird species, 28% of reptiles, and a whopping 42% of Australian mammals call tree hollows their home, of which 22% are listed as threatened with extinction.

As our old hollow trees fall victim to land clearing and environmental degradation, it is more essential than ever to do what we can to ensure the survival of these species.
Natural hollows take 100-150 years to form, meaning we don’t have time to wait for nature. What we can do, is make sure we provide what habitat we can to help nature speed up the process.

Using state of the art custom designed equipment, we are able to replicate natural hollows and habitat for targeted species in only a few hours. By burrowing into the inner-dead wood of the tree, we are able to safely and efficiently replicated natural hollows and provide critical nesting places for these endangered species. This technique is suitable for living trees, dead trees, and also creating habitat trunks from trees destined for removal.
Instead of removing hazardous or dangerous trees, we are able to reduce the tree to a structurally safe size and replicate natural habitat using a combination of coronet cuts (cut designed to replicated naturally failed limbs) and various hollow sizes.
Nest Box Creation and Installation
Custom nest boxes are a great solution for when hollow carving is not an option, whether due to the size of the tree or the size of the hollow required. We offer a range of different nest boxes custom made to suit targeted species ranging from tiny yellow bellied gliders to giant powerful owls.
All boxes are made from seasoned salvaged hardwood and unlike traditional nesting boxes, can provide a safe and climatically stable place for animals to live and nest for a much longer time. Each box is secured with dynamic and non intrusive fittings and are installed harmoniously with the trees natural structure.
Periodic inspection ensure the the health of the tree and structural integrity of the boxes are never compromised.

Arboricultural Contracting
Offering contract climbing Australia wide for a range of services, including, seed collection, large tree or limb removal, hazard reductions such as dead wooding or pruning, and confined space tree removal. Techniques used ensure property and assets are protected with the upmost care and trees in vulnerable locations are able to be removed effectively and safely.
Other specialist services such as hollow and habitat creation, and hollow surveys and inspection are performed as well as assisting with the collection of arboreal data.
Minimal impact climbing techniques are employed which won’t damage the tree or cause risk to its health.
